April is closing up. I’ve had a bit of a rough month but I’ve read some great books so that’s helped get me through. Sadly, the list of things I actually read seems much different than my previous wrap-up post. Although the list of books that I ended up reading was much different, I don’t regret reading a single one. Here’s a look at what I read this month in case you missed it.
I went on a young adult binge and read three young adult books. These are backlist titles, two of which have been made into movies.
Better Bound: Before I Die by Jenny Downham
Backlist Book Review: Where She Went by Gayle Forman
Better Bound: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Then I got approved for a lot of e-galleys this month so I started reading those. I was fortunate enough to get some really good titles by authors I had never heard of before.
If you are a fan of crime novels, I highly suggest Clare Mackintosh’s book. If you love literary fiction about family’s then you should check out Antonia Haye’s adorable Ethan Forsythe.

I have continued to write for Tell-Tale TV as well. I still cover Blindspot and Grey’s Anatomy but I have now added Orphan Black to the list as well. You can see this month’s reviews below, or you can view my author profile to see every post I’ve written to date.

Now, onto the TBR pile for May! I have quite a few galleys for early June so there are a few upcoming releases you can expect to see on the blog next month as well as a couple of titles I have been dying to read myself.
1) The Sleep Garden by Jim Krusoe
This is a book I have really wanted to read over the last few months. This is a book about an underground apartment complex that doubles as purgatory. The premise sounds like something I would really enjoy.
2) With Malice by Eileen Cook
Due out June 7th, this is a book that sounded a little like a cross between the Amanda Knox case and the Grayson’s from Revenge. I am looking forward to giving it a read.
3) Lily and the Octopus by Stephen Rowley
I’ve heard so much about this book! I am absolutely dying to read it. It comes out June 7th, but it should be a fascinating read.
4) Killing Eva by Alex Blackmore
Another galley due out June 1st. This is an author or a title I haven’t heard much about but it still sounded interesting. I seem to be on a mystery kick as of late, so it should fit in really well.
5) The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman
This book, due out June 14th, tells the tale of a professional spy who collects works of fiction from different realities. It sounds like my kind of read. Bring it on!
6) Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll
This is another book I’ve heard a lot about that I am excited to read. It is also the book club’s pick for May so that gives me added incentive to finish it.
7) Cinder by Marissa Meyer
I keep hearing a lot about Cinder and I am dying to give it a read. If only because the red shoe on the cover closely resembles my favorite pair of red pumps.
