The Fall Book Tag

Is it seriously the fall? I am torn! On one hand: salted caramel and pumpkin flavored deliciousness! On the other hand: we’re now so close to winter! But since it is not winter yet, and Honeycrisp apples are in season at the local orchard, I am inclined to be excited by the fact that it is now fall!

The Bionic Book Worm created a fall tag to help us celebrate the season. So let’s do this thing!

The rules:

  • Please link back to me, Bionic Book Worm, as the creator of this tag!! I want to see your answers!!
  • Use the graphics – if you want
  • Have fun!

A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

I have to say that although it is about a curmudgeon I really liked the premise of A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman, and I think thought that writing style was really refreshing for a man character who seems to hate everything! Even the way he talks about the cat that hangs around as “the cat annoyance” felt a little off beat.

Book Cover - Yesterday by Felicia Yap

Yesterday by Felicia Yap

When I think about it, I really liked the ending of Yesterday by Felicia Yap! While I only rated the book three stars and had issues with how the world that’s depicted relies only on a days memory and stored “facts” about one’s self, I thought that as a mystery it’s pretty solid. Plus, I did enjoy the book overall, and I did keep turning pages just to see where the ending took me.

fall tag 5Book Cover - Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley

Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley

I keep thinking about Lily and the Octopus, one of the books that I read last year, that I loved! Steven Rowley came up with a great story about a human being and their beloved pet! I have always enjoyed this book and I recommend it to all dog people. The thing is, I cannot say more, without giving away half of the story, so just go check it out.

Book Cover - The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin

The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin

How about a book with a red, orange, and yellow tree on the cover? The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin has a spectacular cover and it has a beautiful story too. Sadly, it doesn’ come out until the winter, but is going to be so worth the wait.

Book Cover - City of Thieves by David Benioff

City of Thieves by David Benioff

I don’t read a lot of books that are action-driven, but I really loved City of Thieves by David Benioff last January. It’s a great book, from about 10-pages in things start happening and they don’t stop until the final chapter.

Book Cover - Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

My most recent book purchase was Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. I am really looking forward to reading this, but to be completely honest, I have to read Everything I Never Told You first, because, if you’ve been around this blog before, you may recall how I packed it for a trip last fall and then did battle with the wind while I tried to actually read it. Spoiler alert: the wind won!

Those are my answers for all book tag! What do you guys think of my answers? What’s the release you’re most anticipating this fall? Let me know in the comments below.

    1. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed The Immortalists. Some of the reviews are divided on the types of stories the book tells but I found something oddly magical about it. Celeste Ng is really up there on my list! I want to read her books so badly but I have to finish a few for book clubs first!
