To play along you just had to answer the following three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
So, let’s get started!
It’s been a rather productive week! I am working on Booktube-A-Thon, and I am working through this TBR list I wrote up this weekend.
On Friday, I finished We Could Be Beautiful by Swan Huntley. This was an ARC that ended up on my backlist. The writing is beautiful, but I wanted to punch the character in the face. Check out my review for more.
On Monday, I finished Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker. This comes out on August 8th and I was pleasantly surprised by it.
I am so close to finishing the audiobook of The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty that I am going to put it here because I will probably finish it today.
This week is Booktube-a-Thon so I am trying to complete some challenges as well as get some of the books off my TBR and backlist.
I am on the last third of The Vegetarian by Han Kang, and I hope to finish it today. It’s a very odd book and I am not entirely sure how I am going to review it.
For the “read an entire book outside challenge” I am reading Almost Famous Women by Megan Mayhew Bergman. My logic being that, since it’s short stories, I can pick it up and put it down when it’s either a) dark or b) raining and read a novel at night and when I am in the car or waiting somewhere.
I also started Indelible by Adelia Saunders. I only read the very first short chapter, and it’s not really my priority right now, we’ll see if I finish it this week.
What Am I Reading Next?
So many options, only four days left in the week! Still hoping to get some Booktube-A-Thon challenges completed.
For my “read a book in a day” challenge, I picked Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf. It’s around 150 pages and looks manageable.
I need a new audiobook, so I am thinking that I will listen to A Madness so Discreet by Mindy McGinnis. It’s been in my audio TBR pile for a while now and I am dying to look up The Female of the Species by this author.
Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer will probably be my next read, only because it’s so different, and also short. Perfect for a readathon.
So that’s roughly where I am this week! What are you guys reading this week? Are any of you participating in Booktube-A-Thon this week?
