It’s time to revive The Sunday Post! This is a weekly blog meme, where I catch you up on what you might have missed, give you some general updates, and link to a few other blog posts I’ve enjoyed this week.
Kimberly @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer hosts this weekly meme, where bloggers can link up their posts and explore each other’s sites.
Anyway, let’s get started!

Of course, I’ve also been reading. The only book I’ve been actively reading is Most Wanted by Lisa Scottoline, and I’ve got opinions on it as I tie it up today. It’s for a book club meeting on Thursday and I only have about a hundred pages left.
The next book I am going to read is Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire, because I am hoping to check out another book club on Wednesday. Fortunately the book for this month is short, so I should be able to fit this in pretty quickly.
This weekend was actually a big summer party in the town that hosts my local independent bookstore. I took a ride, and I picked up two new books. The first is The Ship by Antonia Honeywell and the second is for the August meeting of the book club The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill.
What Else Have I Been Up To
So, since I haven’t done of these since last September (yikes!) I will give you a little more backstory to some of these things than usual.
Back in March, I announced that I had signed up to walk in the Avon 39 Walk to End Breast Cancer in New York City. This past week I held a fundraiser to help me meet my goal. A bunch of us got together to make wooden signs in a setup that’s sort of like a paint and sip, except you aren’t bound by the host’s sign choice. You also work with raw wood and distress and paint the sign to your liking. This is my finished sign. On the left is the raw wood, and on the right is what I walked out with.
A portion of each ticket went towards my $1,800 walk goal! Once that check is processed my new total will be just over $1,100! I am still looking for contributions, and if you would like to donate you can view my page here. I am hoping to plan a bookish fundraiser sometime soon. I will keep you guys posted on details since that will be hosted online.
Additionally, I am still writing for Tell-Tale TV! For a solid three weeks I was covering Gotham, Pretty Little Liars, Blindspot, and Scandal, before the 2016-2017 network TV season ended. I wrote a review of the Pretty Little Liars series finale, and I am currently covering Orphan Black. Last week’s review of “Ease for Idle Millionaires” is here, and the newest review should be live shortly.
Around the Blogosphere
Em @ Keystone Blog talks about reading slumps, why they occur, and some suggestions on how to get out of them. Yes, they’re a bear, but you can get out of them.
Michael @ My Comic Relief talks about the unrealistic career expectations that Indiana Jones has given him. This is very entertaining, and definitely worth the read, and honestly, I think we’ve all been there.
Anjie @ Love Thy Shelf talks about Book Defacing. Touchy subject for some, but damn some of these people can get creative with their books.
Waggy Tales Dog Blog posts about small dog behavior in a post titled “Can you please just shut up?” Not a book-themed post, but all the dog people out there will get a kick out of it. Especially small dog people.
Analee @ Book Snacks talks about why book bloggers will make amazing writers. Anything I say here might be biased, so you should read the post and think about it for yourself.
So that was my week in a nutshell. What have you guys been up to this week? Find any new blogs I should check out? Let me know in the comments below.
