My July TBR Pile

July TBRI haven’t been reading much lately, as much as it pains me to admit that, so this is my first TBR pile post in a while.

Here are the books I am hoping to read in July.

1. Everything You Want Me to Be by Mindy Mejia

This book sounds like Pretty Little Liars for an adult audience, and I just started reading it on the first of the month. I am 10% of the way through it and I am enjoying it so far.

2. Yes, Chef by Marcus Samuelsson

I picked this up right after I finished Red Queen, and I am really loving it so far. I don’t read a lot of memoirs, but I am finding that I really like this one.

3. Most Wanted by Lisa Scottoline

This is a book club pick that I am very excited to read. I am hoping to start this immediately after I read the first two books on this list.

4. The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty

This is my current audiobook and I am hoping to finish it soon. I am a quarter of the way through, and the story has sort of sucked me in.

5. Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire

This is another book club pick that seems like something that I will really enjoy.  This is a novella and it looks like it should be a quick read.

6.  The Lauras by Sara Taylor

This is an ARC I have that comes out August 1st, so I am going to attempt to get this in right before it’s released. It sounds like a great

7. The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood

This is the second book in the Madaddam Series by Margaret Atwood, and I’ve been wanting to read it since I read Oryx and Crake last year. So I think it’s about time I buckle down and give this a shot.

8. Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys

I keep hearing about this book and I have it in my to-be-listened to audio collection. I think it’s finally times that I set that up.

  1. I’d love to read Everything You Want Me To Be too. It’s good to hear you like it so far! Nice and diverse list! I don’t make much plans in advance regarding my reading in a month.. I’m almost through my review books (I have two requests pending) so its all open then. I requested the new Robert Dugoni book (nr. 5 I think) and I’d really like to read that one!

    1. It’s great so far, I am about three chapters in. And it does remind me of Pretty Little Liars right now…but I am sure it will take on a shape of its own. I am trying not to make lists that are too ambitious. Three of these books I’ve already started and I am about a quarter of the way through, so depending on how this weeks I may finish two of those. Then I have a couple book club books to read.

  2. OOO! Great TBR pile!
Let me know how you like Everything You Want Me To Be – it’s been under my radar for quite a while now and noting that your comparison of it to Pretty Little Liars intrigues me even more!
I recently finished Lang Leav’s Sad Girls which I loved! If you’re into a coming-of-age romance novel with a chilling twist I’d definitely recommend that one!
I look forward to reading more from you soon, Happy July Reading 🙂
