Memorable Mondays // Ancient Poets and The Sunrise

Memorable Mondays is a meme that focuses on spotlighting our favorite quotes from books we’ve read.

This week’s quote comes from the young adult book The 100 by Kass Morgan.

The 100 is set after a devastating nuclear war. No one has set foot on Earth in centuries, but now one hundred juvenile delinquents are being sent to the ground. It follows them on their journey to get a second chance at life. This quote describes one delinquent’s reaction to a sunrise.

The 100 -- Bellamy Sunrise Poets This quote made me smile the second that I read it. The fact that Bellamy is looking at his first sunrise and thinking back to a lesson about poetry seems so human and so appropriate for a character.

I couldn’t imagine a better way for someone who has lived their life in space to react to a sunrise.

Have you read The 100 by Kass Morgan? What do you think of this quote?
