Memorable Mondays // A Kiss is Not a Binding Social Contract

Memorable Mondays Main Image

Memorable Mondays is a meme that focuses on spotlighting our favorite quotes from books we’ve read.

This week’s quote comes from the new adult sci-fi novel The Vanishing Girl by Laura Thalassa.

One of the things that I love about the main character in The Vanishing Girl is her snark. She’s very frank and says exactly what’s on her mind. There are lots of really interesting quotes and snappy lines but I think this one is my favorite:

The Vanishing Girl

Ember’s line here, really resonated with me as a feminist. Given how much has occurred lately with sexual assault and consent I think that this is a really honest way to lay out what she expects from a relationship.

Have you read The Vanishing Girl by Laura Thalassa? What do you think of this quote from the book?
