Memorable Mondays // That Moment When You Discover Your Best Friend

Memorable Mondays Main Image Memorable Mondays is a meme that focuses on spotlighting our favorite quotes from books we’ve read.

This week’s Memorable Monday comes from Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein.

I’ve already admitted that I’m a little hung up on this book, so much so that I even styled an outfit based on it!

While I want to shake my fist at the sky and say “Damn you Elizabeth Wein,” I think this is one of the best books I have read in a while, so it’s no surprise that I pulled at least one quote from it.

I’ve been thinking a lot about friendship lately, especially after reading Code Name Verityand that’s why this quote stood out to me.

2. Code Name Verity This quote is one of my favorite quotes from this book. I found it very poignant quote. I don’t think this sentiment will never get old.

Here’s a synopsis of Code Name Verity:

code-name-verityI have two weeks. You’ll shoot me at the end no matter what I do.

That’s what you do to enemy agents. It’s what we do to enemy agents. But I look at all the dark and twisted roads ahead and cooperation is the easy way out. Possibly the only way out for a girl caught red-handed doing dirty work like mine – and I will do anything, anything to avoid SS-Hauptsturmführer von Linden interrogating me again.

He has said that I can have as much paper as I need. All I have to do is cough up everything I can remember about the British War Effort. And I’m going to. But the story of how I came to be here starts with my friend Maddie. She is the pilot who flew me into France – an Allied Invasion of Two.

We are a sensational team.

Code Name Verity is now available for purchase. You can purchase the audiobook through Audible and iTunes. You can purchase a physical copy of the book at your local independent booksellerBarnes & Noble, and Amazon.

    1. It’s a great book. I have to be cryptic when I talk about it because saying even the smallest thing gives away so much, but it’s great. And if you like audiobooks, that’s great too, it reads a lot like a radio play.

  1. This book sounds great! Also the quote is so so so true. The value of friendship is often played down a lot in society, and I love how this book is focused around it. I can’t wait to read!
